First Public Meeting

 

                                            NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

The McFarland Recreation and Park District will hold a public meeting on March 27, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. to gather public input on potential by-district election maps. This meeting will be part of the board of director’s regular monthly meeting.

The McFarland Recreation and Park District's Board of Directors is currently elected under an at­large election system, where directors are elected by voters of the entire District. On February 10, 2024, the Board approved via 4-0-1 vote its intent to adopt by-district elections. In a by-zone election system, each director must reside within the designated zone boundary and is elected only by the voters in that zone. On March 27, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. p.m. the Board will hold a public hearing to gather input on composition of potential zones pursuant to Elections Code section 10010. The public hearing will occur at the Mouser Center located at 100 South Second Street, McFarland, CA 93250 The public is invited to participate and make comments during the public hearing.
