Vandalism

NOTICE TO THE RESIDENTS OF MCFARLAND:

Over the last few months, we have been targeted numerous times by acts of vandalism. Each time this occurs, MRPD must spend thousands of dollars to make repairs. We simply cannot afford this. There are several projects we are working on that need funding and this is a hindrance to providing the best facilities to our residents. The Sherwood Park restrooms were damaged three times during this time.

These images show vandalism that occurred Saturday, February 20 and Monday, February 22. Please be vigilant in helping us protect our parks. Contact MRPD or the McFarland Police Department if you see acts of vandalism.

This past Friday, we had a sidewalk poured to the Browning Road restrooms as part of our strategic plan. We came to work this morning to find graffiti etched into the concrete.

The vandalism of our parks affects everyone. The monies spent fixing the damages is only one part of the equation. It also means our maintenance workers are spending time on these things rather than the work they should be completing.

These are your parks!

Do not let a few ruin it for everyone.

Due to the latest damages The Sherwood Park Restrooms are closed.
